Criticize
(cont'd)
While you might feel a sense of authority or superiority and even a little rush of energy when you're
being critical, you are not actually elevating yourself—you're doing
the opposite. You're lowering your vibration, not raising it. Thoughts
of superiority or any such comparisons are clear signs you
are in the clutches of ego. Only
ego is into superiority and other
such status-related concepts.
If you pay attention to how the
energy in your body feels when criticism is going on, you'll easily
be able to tell that your vibration drops in its presence. Whether it's
you doing the criticizing or
someone else, the net result is the same: Lowered vibration and a greater immersion in the painful realities of Difficult world.
One of the strongest traps of the DWD is self-criticism, often stemming from comparing our-selves to others or holding our-selves up to some Difficult World-based standard. It provides a very convenient meal for the DWD because it doesn't require the presence of anyone or anything else! Being kind to yourself and allowing yourself to simply be who and what you are without judgment is a requirement for being in Easy World.
In order to be in Easy World, experiencing the joy, ease and fulfillment there, you need to be aligned with your Spirit and allowing Love to flow freely. The way you do this is through accepting, allowing, embracing and appreciating. When you're being critical, you are doing just the opposite. You're in resistance and that's the premier tool of the DWD.
Now—don’t go criticizing yourself for being critical! Choose Easy World instead and breathe…relax…allow…enjoy…and watch the magic unfold!
TRUE FREEDOM
Jon Gordon
I
l Iove July 4th. Not just because of the fireworks, barbeque and excitement
that Independence Day brings. I love it because it’s a holiday that celebrates the greatest gift to humanity... freedom.
Freedom is not something many of
us think about on a daily basis and
yet if you consider the great
struggles and triumphs throughout history they are stories of an oppressed group of people who sought, desired, and found
freedom.
The quest for freedom is also a
story that lives inside each and
every one of us.
I remember three years ago when
I went on a book tour for
The Energy Bus. I drove thousands of miles and visited 30 cities. My
wife and kids joined me for part of
the trip but I also spent many
hours, days and miles driving alone.
At one point on the journey I
looked in the rearview mirror and realized I had all this stuff on my
bus that I didn't need. Why did I
travel with all these bags of useless stuff for so long, I wondered?
I believe every one of us can say
the same about our life journey. We hold on to bags that only weigh us down. For some it’s the bags of the past or the bags of disappointment. For others, it’s the bags of distrust, self-doubt, mistakes, fear, anger
and pain.
We may live in a free country but
we are often imprisoned by our negative thoughts and emotional baggage.
You know the baggage I'm talking about. They affect your work, your
life and your relationships. Just as I looked in the rearview mirror of my bus, you can look in the rear view mirror of your life and know which bags need to be left behind.
Then you can do what I did. I didn’t want to drive heavy. I wanted to travel light. So I let the bags off the bus. You can do the same. As author Max Lucado says, “You can release the burdens you were never meant
to carry.”
I remember the moment I let the
bags off my bus. I was somewhere
past Phoenix driving through the desert. I found a big trash can and
put the bags where they belonged.
I got back in the bus with the past behind me and a road full of day-
light ahead. A big smile came upon
my face. I was now free to enjoy the ride.
I hope you'll do the same... and experience true freedom.
The Choices in the Middle
Jennifer Hoffman
There is a purpose in everything,
in standing still and in moving for-
ward and there is as much power in
a pause as there is in a choice. In
fact, sometimes the pause is a very powerful place to be as we allow ourselves the luxury of taking our time to accept or decline an opportunity, as long as we don't
take to long. A short, intentional, conscious and deliberate pause is a powerful statement of our willingn
ess and desire to make the highest
and best choice. But when dragged
out too long, we get stuck in the
pause and then we are in the middle, unsure of
Choices and choosing are very important points of transformation because each choice creates another step on our life path and every decision to accept or decline creates
a new pathway for us. But we can't always maintain a strong forward motion because there are times
when we need to assess the results
of our choices, take an inventory of what we have created and decide
what works and what doesn't. And
the only way to do that is to stop moving, stand in the middle and
have a look around.
Now being in the middle isn't where we need to criticize and judge ourselves, to look at all of the wrong choices or feel that we are at a dead end. It is a chance to be still, to give ourselves time to catch up and take
a breath, to view the landscape of
our lives from the perspective of accomplishment and celebration.
We spend so much time doing and thinking and without the balance of being, we can feel like we're always in a hurry to the next destination.
There is no destination other than
the one we are standing in and no more important moment than the present one.
The middle is a powerful choice, as long as it doesn't remain our choice for too long. There is a fine line between being an observer from
this middle point and being stuck there because we can't decide what
we need to do next. When we take a moment to pause we allow what is happening in spirit to trickle down
to us at an ego level, to integrate
new thoughts and thinking and
then allow ourselves to use that as
our life path's new starting point. Giving ourselves a moment to
pause, deliberately and intention-
ally, so we can consider our next
steps is a gift of trust and faith. Then we allow the stillness to become the fertile ground that produces power-
ful, life and self affirming, masterful thoughts which allow the next path
we choose for our reality to express the highest aspects of our potential.
