                                                                                                 RIVER CROSSING

A major challenge might seem like a river in flood that a blocks your path.  You can't judge the depth of the water, so you stand there, panicked, wondering what to do.  Don't just charge in.  Instead, spend a few minutes looking carefully, to see whether stepping stones are visible just below the water's surface.  Often they are.  Pick your way calmly and carefully.  The obstacle may be less formidable than you feared.

    WHO AM I?

It's often been said that we become the choices we make.  Our identity, in other words, is in large measure developed through the way we behave and act - especially toward other people.  Few of us can be saints but we can certainly all be seekers -determined explorers on the path of right thought and right behavior.  It is on this path that we will find ourselves.

    FRUITS OF ACTION

The principle of karma may be summarized as follows:  "Every action brings an appropriate consequence upon the doer."  Karma is not prescriptive:  it relies on our intuition and our conscience to direct us.  In our hearts we usually know how to behave:  listen to that inner voice and ensure that you reap a karmic harvest, not a karmic whirlwind.

    WATER WORSHIP

To the Celts, water represented a boundary between the physical world and the otherworld:  caves, wells, and springs were regarded as sacred gateways.  Consider marking the transition from your working day to your own "otherworld" - your valuable free time - with water.  Unwind by taking a relaxing bath or swim, or enjoy a are freshing glass of iced water or maybe a cup of herbal tea.

CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOUR DS

Do it, Delegate it, Dump it or Defer it.  The ability to balance your work load, delegating, dumping or deferring what cannot be done immediately is an important management skill for ensuring maximum efficiency.  When choosing between options, remember that when delegating you retain ultimate responsibility for the task, and are therefore also responsible for supporting your subordinate in completing it to your satisfaction.  By contrast, when dumping you are assessing that no one need take any action - a decision for which you are willing to take full responsibility.  Deferral is the option for non-urgent tasks that you will have to do yourself.  Although, in our personal lives, we sometimes view deferral as a sign of self-delusion, at work it is part of prioritizing - a valid strategy for dealing with a crowded in-tray.

     CHAIN REACTION

When you do not accept what actually is, where does that leave you?  You need then something else to take its place.  The faculty of producing something else is what we call the mind.  And than a long chain starts - a series of actions and reactions, being and not being, good and evil, death and suffering.  All these come into being as links of that chain.  How are they produced?  By denial.  By denying what is.  By negating it.  By creating something else in its place."

    PRESSURE POINT

There's a simple acupressure technique you can apply to yourself to stimulate awareness.  Hold your left hand, palm down with thumb and forefinger spread, in front of you,, supported by your right hand.  apply gentle pressure with the right thumb to the fleshy part of the hand between thumb and forefinger.  Hold for about two minutes.  Then switch hands and repeat the exercise.  (  Avoid when pregnant.)

    RULE OF FIVE

Positive psychologists have discovered that performing acts of altruism or kindness significantly increases people's happiness levels.  Try to do at least five assorted kind acts a week, no matter how big or small.  Even better, try to do five in one day now and then!  Or even every day!

    GERANIUM

Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) has a wonderfully uplifting, calming, flowery scent. It is excellent for the skin, and its aromatic influence helps release negative memories. Dr. Wayne Dyer's Corner

Miracles are an inside job.  Go there to create the magic that you seek in your life.

People generally stop having hurt feelings when they realize that those feelings can no longer be used to manipulate you.

A special kind of freedom is available to you if you're willing to take the risks involved in getting it:  the freedom to wander where you will about life's terrain, to make all your own choices.

    Louise Hay and Friends

Your generosity toward others is key to your positive experiences in the world.  Know that there's enough room for everyone to be passionate, creative, and successful.   In fact, there's more than room for everyone; there's a need for everyone.

    BOWEN TECHNIQUE

Bowtech, the original Bowen Technique, is gentle form of body work in which very subtle moves performed over the muscles and connective tissue send messages deep into the body, retrieving memory of a preferred, relaxed, balanced way of wellbeing.  Results can be remarkable, even from the first session; often only a few sessions are needed to correct the presenting problem.  There are frequent but very essential pauses throughout the session that allow the body time to respond and begin the healing process.

The Bowen Technique does not use forceful manipulation.  The technique addresses not on the musculo-skeletal framework, but also the facia, nerves and internal organs.  The body's integrated response improves circulation and lymphatic drainage and aids in the assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxins.

The original Bowen Technique is extremely gentle and is considered appropriate for anyone from pregnant women to newborn babies, the frail and elderly.  It can assist recovery from many conditions, from traumatic injury to chronic illness, depending upon each individual's capacity to heal.  No adverse side effects have been reported.

The technique should be considered for:  back pain, sciatica, digestive and bowel problems including IBS, ear ache, ear infections, migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, knee, ankle, foot problems, menstrual and hormonal irregularities, sports and accident injuries, neck/shoulder problems (incl. frozen shoulder), groin pain, pelvic tilt, uneven leg length, respiratory problems and hay fever, RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow, etc. etc.
